Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary...

How does your garden grow?

Coming soon...
Photos (another true love) of my garden. Past and present.

Most of the plants in my Favorites are currently in my garden, but in addition to that I also have the following growing now as well:

Ornamental Peppers – Recently bought these and can’t seem to keep enough water on them, but I think I left them outside too long one day trying to get them enough sun. Therein lies that mistake. Also, I initially bought them because I thought it would be fun to cook with them, and as I was checking out the clerk said, “Aren’t those pretty? Too bad you can’t eat them.” Whaaaa?? So, sadly they aren’t going to be as functional as I’d hoped. But they are red, green, yellow, orange, and have purple flowers all in one plant. Kind of awesome. Be a lot cooler if I could eat them though.

Crepe Myrtle -I'm not a HUGE fan of these other than when the branches of the really tall ones appear very sculpture like. I think my sister-in-law told me a story about that being a popular feature of them also. I have a tall one in my neighbor's yard that gets out of control and tends to scratch our cars before someone will cut it back, and we have one short purple variety in the back by the pool. It is taking up so much room though that I keep meaning to have it moved somewhere else. I also want it to grow taller to stay out of the way and haven't taken the time to secure the lower branches to attempt to train it to grow this way, which is how I assume one would go about fixing this problem. We shall see...someday.
